The 5 day seminar workshop featured hands-on training on paper recovery and talks on disaster preparedness and proper disposition of damaged records. It catered to all government agencies from the Eastern Leyte and Samar area like LGUs, Regional Offices, National Government Attached Agencies, Government Hospitals, Primary and Secondary Schools, and SUCs.

The National Archives of the Philippines has just finished the first leg of their Records Recovery and Disaster Preparedness Seminar Workshop in Tacloban City. The 5 Day seminar Workshop was held at the Leyte Normal University from 21 to 25 April 2014. The seminar workshop aimed to give the government agencies affected by Typhoon Yolanda a free skills training on how to salvage and recover their damaged government records in accordance with R.A. 9470.

A total of 314 participants attended in this program and all left armed with new skills and new outlook on records management and disaster preparedness. The National Archives is now preparing for the 2nd and 3rd leg of the project which will be held in Cebu City and Roxas City respectively.
