The National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) participated in the Annual Iberoamerica IBEREX Program for 2019 which was conducted from October 1-29, 2019 in Madrid and Seville, Spain. The program was attended by participants from Chile, Costa Rica, Guinea Ecuatorial, Peru, Dominican Republic and the Philippines. NAP was represented by Ms. Rowena G. Landingin, Archivist I.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports through the Department of the General State Administration facilitated the annual IBEREX Program for the practical training of Iberoamericans from the cultural sector.
The Beneficiaries of the IBEREX program grants professionals such as archivists or personnel who perform functions in the Archives and who belong to member countries of the Ibero-American Nations. Also included are countries which Spain has constitutional recognition among which is the Philippines. The process of selection of participants for the program is initiated by the Evaluation Commission based on the following criteria: academic, professional and technical profile; professional experience; and the ability to apply the course’s contents in the parent institution.
The program included a series of discussions about the role of Archives in disseminating documentary heritage through the State Archives and Centers. Different State Archives and Centers were visited during the course of program.
