On September 14, 2021, the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) conducted the fifth roll-out seminar for the Electronic Records Management Policy (ERMP) in Central Luzon and Southern Luzon. This was carried out in collaboration with the Presidential Communications Operations Office as part of efforts to strengthen the Freedom of Information (FOI) initiative.

The ERMP provides guidelines for the government sector in the shift from traditional paper records management to an electronic regime. This newly crafted policy contains protocols for managing the creation, use, storage, disposition, and archiving of electronic records.

The fifth ERMP rollout was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session (Central Luzon) was participated in by a total of 51 participants while the afternoon session (Southern Luzon) had a total of 62 participants. These roll-out activities were conducted via ZOOM video conference.

Participants in the said activities were representatives from national government agencies, local government units, and other institutions. Previously, NAP and the PCOO conducted ERMP introductory sessions in the Visayas and other parts of Luzon.

The NAP will conduct more ERMP rollout activities in the future to ensure that all government agencies are made familiar with the new guidelines for Electronic Records Management.
