On September 6-10, 2021, the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) conducted the virtual seminar on Records Disaster Preparedness and Business Continuity (DPBC). This virtual seminar is designed to equip agencies with a working knowledge that will help them secure their records and collections in the event of emergencies and disasters.
The DPBC Records Seminar also aimed to assist agencies and other institutions in establishing a contingency plan by helping agencies identify and assess possible threats they may encounter in the future. This five-day virtual series focused on the aspects of preparation, prevention, response, and recovery.
The seminar was attended by 191 participants from various national government agencies, government hospitals, local government units, academe, and private institutions. This series focused on identifying the principal causes of the disaster, the importance of disaster preparedness, developing a risk assessment plan, and establishing a disaster recovery plan.
