On December 6-7, 2021, the National Archives of the Philippines together with the City Archives and Records Office (CARO) of Davao City, conducted a two-day virtual seminar workshop on Basic Restoration of Damaged Records. The virtual workshop aimed to equip the participants with knowledge and skills on the restoration of damaged records. The principles of maintenance/preventive measures in handling documents were discussed. The activity also aimed to introduce the participants to the preparatory steps for the restoration of records by incorporating live workshops, and discussions. 

Part of the seminar-workshop also centers on the necessary steps to be undertaken before restoring the records such as documentation, selection of treatment materials, test, and treatment proposal. The Basic Restoration of Damaged Records seminar-workshop was attended by 74 participants. The workshop also focused on different techniques of repairing records, and methods to prevent damages.
