The National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) conducted a series of virtual seminars on Records Disposition Administration (RDA) on June 14-18, 2021. These virtual seminars were launched to guide government agencies and other institutions in establishing a Records Disposition Program (RDP).

This webinar also aimed to assist its 150 participants from national government agencies including representatives from the academe, hospitals, government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in utilizing their approved Records Disposition Schedule (RDS). The webinar on RDA is part of the intensified efforts of NAP in ensuring that agencies and institutions in the country are guided in the aspect of records disposal amid the pandemic.

“Our institution, the National Archives of the Philippines, will continue to strengthen its efforts to ensure that recorded information is preserved and cared for,” NAP’s Executive Director Victorino M. Manalo said during his opening remarks on the first day of the RDA webinar on June 14.

Mr. Manalo said with the COVID-19 scaling up the importance of records management, NAP still needed the contribution and participation of everyone to ensure that information will be preserved as part of the nation’s documentary heritage. The guest of honor for the webinar, Dr. Irmina B. Francisco, Chief Administrative Officer of the provincial government of Pangasinan shared that the success of Pangasinan’s synchronized records disposal was made possible through collective efforts, and with invaluable guidance from NAP.

NAP’s staff Terrence Michael Tablizo, Supervising Records Management Analyst; Ehxia R. Dondonilla, Senior Records Management Analyst; Christine Licopit, Records Management Analyst II; Wendy O. Hernandez, Records Management Analyst II, and Larry O. Pardilla, Senior Records Management Analyst shared their expertise as resource persons of NAP.
