The National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) just held a special meeting with the Assistant Secretaries of the different Departments of the government. Constitutional offices, along with their Records Manager/Officer were also present at the meeting which was held at the Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Manila last March 26, 2014.

The meeting was about the National Inventory for Disaster Preparedness and E-Governance. It was anchored by NAP Executive Director, Victorino Mapa Manalo with the Records Management Services Division Inventory Team (RMSD-IT) and Archives Preservation Division (APD) personnel.

The forum was well attended. Some questions on National Inventory and E-Governance were raised and answered. New strategies on the National Inventory were also discussed. It was decided to emphasize Department-wide trainings instead of Regional Forums.

This new strategy should lead to increased participation from Departments resulting in more inventory submissions.
