CONSCRIPCIÓN: IMAGINING AND INSCRIBING THE ILOCANO WORLD

The Conscripción: Imagining and Inscribing the Ilocano World was the first major exhibition mounted by the National Archives of the Philippines in partnership with the Office of the Vice Governor of Ilocos Sur in 2011. The seed that lead to the mounting of this exhibition was the in-depth research on the history of Ilocos Sur done by the office of Vice Governor Deogracias Victor Savellano. The records presented in the exhibition were collected from various researches done in archival institutions in the country and abroad.

The exhibition features the scale model of the Vigan Plaza as it existed during the Spanish period. The scale models were made based on plans found in the collection of the National Archives of the Philippines. The exhibit also features the 14 paintings on the Basi Revolt by Esteban Villanueva dated 1821.
